Innovation In Education,ForMy Society And ForMyStudents. By Ms Ishrat Parveen Librarian, Kendriya Vidyalaya Palwal. Every challenge is an opportunity, they say. I’ve been thinking about the impact of the coronavirus, and the kinds of tools and services that could be focused on ensuring that students don’t miss a beat in their learning. COVID-19 has brought home the reality that education technology that delivers great content and engages students and teachers has never been more important. While many education systems have resisted changing their 150-year-old structure, necessity now compels them to do what declining student achievement could not. Thousands of entrepreneurs and innovations can help our students keep moving in their educational journey no matter where this virus disruption takes them. While we are all upset by this global problem, we can and we must overcome it. And fortunately the tools to do so are at hand Reinventing Education In the field of education technology, most products and services on the market work to improve the educational experiences of students, instructors or managers. Far fewer are intended to ensure the educational experience can continue for each student on their own, in the event of choice — or necessity. “You want to have the option...to do lots of different things, having every possible tool available to us… It makes sense to continue to develop our online infrastructure and have everything available to us and also because it’s not complicated; over the idea of high quality education needing to be offered in a face-to-face format as opposed to being offered in an adaptable, online format.” I am listing out the innovation I tried doing using various tools in classroom, and to the teaching faculty. 1. Recently I have published 3books on story weaver, Pratham Publication,an NGO which gives platform to publish books if you have a story. There was an issue of using PDF because of copyright issue. I am on verge of completing an app for students and parents to use to pay fee , to visit school webites and various e-books available ,and other education resources so that no student is left behind if he is not getting access to his/her teacher , they can use other educational videos to understand the concept. 7. We have celebrated independence day in the Vidyalaya online, where various students and teacher participated enthusiastically in competitions organised. They were happy to receive certifcates also in the end. Using Buncee tool, I have received Buncee badges for using it efficiently. I have been using this tool to add creativity in the class and told students to submit the worksheet using it. https://app.edu.buncee.com/buncee/d89623d996504868af041233cb42413f 8. I have been taking maths classes as we don’t have any regular teacher for maths, though Maths been very dry subject I tried using many innovation in the class, because of that the strength in Maths class has increased exponentially. I have been using a) Kahoot for quiz, to check whether they understand the concept https://kahoot.it/challenge/f8cb3d51-be23-4440-98c1-640c9a331012_1596909854944 login as student using Game PIN: 02500889 b) Using nearpod to make my class interactive- https://share.nearpod.com/vsph/Ic13hItCMu enter www.nearpod.com with the student code studentcode: LSTCD c) Collaborative tool help me to make it 2 way communication. d) I have taken my students on virtual trip to famous monuments of the world. Apart form teaching students I have been associating and assisting many librarians form all over India on SLA Platform to learn new tech tools. My webinar is due in the month of November 2020 on tech tools. I also tried to teach teachers of my Vidyalaya many tools online or offline and provided various tools and resources to help them in their classroom. 9. Finally my blog has been a good source of information. With various e-books , audio books, and printable sheets for teachers and many more for students and teachers. www.librarykvspalwal.blogpot.com “The hardest part of learning something new is not embracing new ideas, but letting go of old ones.” “To that end, we are shifting our education from the classroom with four walls to the cloud,” using Google for Education. uses virtual reality to improve the way people learn or teach English as a foreign language. “a social virtual reality space, students can collaborate and communicate in one room from anywhere in the world - as though they're all in the same physical location.” What about the adults who can’t go to work and are currently confined to their homes? They could be gaining valuable insights on closing their skills gaps upskilling was ubiquitous. It helps employers and employees to “map and measure soft skills gaps for any job” and helps improve job performance readiness. We shouldn’t need a crisis to rethink education and how it functions. But technology changes the role the teacher plays from directing to supporting and guiding, and changes the reliance on certain times and places that we expect students, particularly young students, to “do” school. Because at the end of the day, students, no matter where they are and how old they are, should be able to make their way through their education and work journeys with the benefit of superior technical innovations that can more easily and quickly identify, respond, correct and expose them to deep learning. Let’s hope that when COVID-19 is in our rear view mirrors, the innovations and technology that helped our students and educational institutions get through it become commonplace and often used tools in the great task of educating every Indian student. ** try out the links provided https://read.bookcreator.com/wMFh0VvXLnXrrRpIURhElu6ExU42/EHfDQYAlQ2qdXOiIc_bMBw https://linktr.ee/librarykvs
